A French region just south of Bourgogne that's devoted to Gamay-based wines. Most Beaujolais are simple, rustic reds, but the 10 Crus offer exceptional quality.

- Alcohol: 10–11.5% ABV
Given its high acidity and lower tannin, Beaujolais is one of few red wines that can span the gamut of main courses from barbecue beef to cedar-planked salmon.
